Fragrant trifoliate leaves turn orange-red in fall. Low mounding native sumac that stabilizes slopes and handles thin Hill Country soils.

Slopes, native thickets, wildlife plantings, and dry banks.
Care
Full sun to light shade. Very low water once established. Tolerates limestone. Can sucker — use where a colony is welcome or choose male cultivars for no fruit.
