Desert Willow
Chilopsis linearis
Texas-native small tree with willow-like leaves and fragrant pink trumpet flowers after summer rains. Extremely drought-tough once established — a Hill Country favorite for heat and dry soils.

Specimen small tree, dry washes, xeric courtyards, hummingbird gardens, parking strips.
Care
Full sun and well-drained soil. Water deeply but infrequently; avoid constant moisture. Prune to a single trunk or multi-trunk form in winter. Overwatering reduces bloom.
